Midway takes players back to the magical fighting world of GAUNTLET with GAUNTLET: SEVEN SORROWS for the Xbox. Once again, up to four players can team up to hack and slash their way through a number of levels and a horde of enemies. GAUNTLET: SEVEN SORROWS takes place in a world where a powerful emperor has lost himself in his dreams and nightmares. Trapped for centuries in his dreams, four immortal heroes realize the only way to free themselves is to journey through the emperor’s mind and defeat his regrets. Only by helping him overcome his seven sorrows will they be freed. Players have six different heroes to select from, each with distinct abilities, personality, and storyline. The main draw of a GAUNTLET game is its multiplayer mode, and once again, up to four players can join in the battle. Also, for the first time, players can join others online to fight monsters or to trade items and other treasure found in the game. While the hack and slash concept hasn’t changed, GAUNTLET: SEVEN SORROWS features RPG elements, allowing players to upgrade their character, buy new weapons and armor, and use items. New junction skills allow players to combine their powers to unleash destructive attacks on their enemies. GAUNTLET: SEVEN SORROWS takes the GAUNTLET world online, a great move that allows players to always have a friend to team up with. The intriguing storyline, characters, and the shear fun of the game is sure to make it a hit.
