Ubisoft’s CSI: CRIME SCENE INVESTIGATION game for the Xbox is a combination of the first two CSI games for the PC, CSI: CRIME SCENE INVESTIGATION and CSI: Dark Motives. Both games are included here, giving players twice as much CSI action. In the first CSI game, players join the cast of the show as a new recruit and must solve five different cases by dusting scenes for fingerprints, using cotton swabs to collect evidence, and using special equipment like UV lights. Players can interact with the entire environment, even talking to their CSI partner to ask for advice or help. After collecting enough evidence, the CSI team can get a warrant and arrest the criminal. CSI: Dark Motives follows the first game’s approach. It contains five new crimes for players to solve, and this time, investigators have a full crime lab at their disposal. Players can send hair samples and other evidence to the lab to be analyzed. Fingerprints can be cross-referenced, tire tracks can be compared, and voice recordings analyzed by the lab staff. Fans of the CSI show will enjoy being a part of the team and tracking down killers. However, the games do faithfully recreate the sometimes graphic depictions of victims, making the game more realistic while at the same time not for the squeamish. Overall, fans of the show and of criminal investigations should jump at the chance to get two games in one with CSI: CRIME SCENE INVESTIGATIONS.
